Indo-US R &D Joint Networked Center


To enable Indian and American scientists from academia and laboratories (both public and non governmental) to carry out joint research activity by leveraging already existing infrastructure and funding available with the partners at both sides through a linkage established by a virtual networked centre. Knowledge R & D Networked Centres aims to encourage joint project implementation on focal areas of thematic and knowledge research through networking thus, paving way to sustainable interactions by promoting excellence and developing long term relationship based on synergy of activities. Networked Centre may also provide opportunities for integrating research with education.

  • Eligibility Requirements

    1. Qualified researchers from all Science, Technology and Engineering disciplines working at Indian and American research institutions drawn from Aademia, Laboratories and Industries
    2. Minimum of two Indian and two American separate institutional partners (2+2 partnership mode)
    3. All partners to have intellectual and financial stake in the joint centre activity by contributing towards resources required for the project execution including the associated salary costs. Proof of existing funding support has to be provided with the proposal.
  • Program Requirements

A research topic of high scientific quality, originality and relevance.
Research topic to cover thematic and basic science areas of topical and mutual interest.

  • Type and Extent of Funding by IUSSTF
    1. Round trip international airfare by economy class and shortest route to visit bilateral partnering institutions.
    2. Per diem for visiting scientists (including PhD & post doc scholars) with short stays up to 2 weeks and long stays up to 4 weeks
    3. Related cost to veover  accomodation or local hospitality
    4. Related Travel cost to cover Visa, airport transfer and medical insurance costs
    5. Contigencies for dissemination of research, educational materials and reports
  • Funding Duration

Funding is generally granted for two years upto maxIMUM inr 50 Lakh.

  • Proposal Evaluation

Proposals will be considered on basis of peer-reviews conducted both in India and United States towards Award. Call for proposal is open round the year.
